From the Principal’s Desk 🍁
Today, our KLE staff spent the day learning and growing together! In the morning, we participated in a professional development session called “Reaching Every Learner,” focused on building access and progress for all students. Staff explored ways to ensure every child can engage meaningfully with grade-level learning through thoughtful scaffolding, inclusion, and support. In the afternoon, our teachers worked hard to prepare for Conference Week, which begins next week.
A quick reminder that there is no school for students on Friday, November 7 or Monday, November 10, as we’ll be holding conferences here at KLE. If you’re unsure of your conference time or date, please reach out to your child’s teacher or contact the school office — we look forward to connecting with every family!
We also want to give a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall Festival! We had nearly 750 people attend, and it was wonderful to see our community come together for such a fun night. A special shoutout goes to Mrs. D’Angelo for organizing this amazing event, and to our PTO and staff volunteers who helped make it all possible. The night was filled with laughter, games, and a few memorable moments — including pieing the superintendent and taping Principal Takata to the wall!
Thank you for continuing to make KLE such a vibrant, supportive community for our students and families!
— Mrs. Takata, Principal

Counselor Corner
Hello KLE families
In the next couple of weeks we will be wrapping up our Bullying Prevention unit with STEAM activities for each grade level. We will learn to identify the effects of bullying using eggs, sponges, paper and toothpaste.
We have seen an increase in our older grades 'roasting' peers. Students are joking around by “roasting” each other — sharing funny or teasing comments in a group setting. Please take a moment to share with your child The difference between friendly teasing and hurtful behavior comes down to making sure everyone’s okay with it, it’s meant kindly, and it happens in the right setting — everyone should feel comfortable and included.
Thank you
Jenn Uniszkiewicz
