Moon Tree from NASA

Students from Mrs. Lewis and Ms. Piper's classes had the opportunity of a lifetime as they planted a Moon Tree, which they named Leto, on the Kitsap Lake campus.  Ms. Piper was one few schools selected to receive this tree from NASA.This Douglas Fir was grown from a seed that orbited the Moon during NASA's Artemis I mission, November 16-December 11, 2022.
Named for the mother of the Greek goddess Artemis, Leto was planted in Bus Loop Island by the 2024-2025 Highly Capable classes on November 15, 2024 at Kitsap Lake Elementary.
