Learning’s Great at the Lake!

We are Kitsap Lake Elementary: Home of the Eagles!

At Kitsap Lake Elementary, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. Our dedicated staff works in partnership with families and the community to create a welcoming environment where students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

As Eagles, we soar together building strong character, celebrating each other’s successes, and striving for excellence every day. Kitsap Lake is more than a school; it’s a caring community where students discover their strengths and soaring to new heights.

Washington School Recognition Program

Kitsap Lake Elementary has received state recognition for outstanding student growth and improvement in the 2024-25 school year.

Kitsap Lake Elementary was recognized for:

  • Closing Gaps:  making meaningful progress to ensure every single student succeeds.

  • Growth: Hispanic/Latino students, multi-racial students, students and with disabilities scored in the 10% statewide for academic improvement.

Each year, the Washington School Recognition Program recognizes schools that demonstrate exceptional progress in key areas of student success. This is a huge honor, as only 16% of schools statewide were recognized this year!

“Our teachers, staff, and students have been working incredibly hard, and the state has taken notice,” said Dr. Slade McSheehy. These awards prove that when our schools focus on supporting every kid’s unique needs, our students achieve amazing things.”

Rebecca Montgomery, 1st/2nd grade teacher

There are too many things to list, but the number one reason I love Bremerton School District is the community — colleagues and students. This is my 34th year teaching in the district, and I’ve lived in Bremerton my whole life, affiliated with this wonderful community since kindergarten in 1975. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I only filled out one job application: Bremerton. Photo: Mrs. Montgomery reading to students at a KLE Reading Night.
