Mrs. Takata joined the Bremerton School District as the principal at Kitsap Lake Elementary School in the fall of 2022.
Mrs. Takata came to the Bremerton School District with experience teaching both special education and general education at the elementary and middle school level in the Puyallup and Tacoma School Districts. She also served as principal in the Mount Baker School District and is currently serving as Director of Teaching and Learning in Hoquiam.
Mrs. Takata believes strongly in collaboration and working alongside staff to create fun and joyful learning environments for students and adults. It is important to Mrs. Takata that every staff member, student and family member feel valued and included in the important work that happens in our school each day. She’s committed to providing equitable experiences for all, closing the achievement gap, and preparing all students for successful futures.
Mrs. Takata is a self-described lifelong learner. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at City University in Bellevue, her Master’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University, and her administrative certification from Washington State University. She enjoys sharing her love of learning with staff and students.
Mrs. Takata and her husband have two adult children. They enjoy being active outdoors. You might see her riding her dirt bike in the beautiful surrounding hills and mountains during her freetime.
