Dismissal Reminder
For the safety of all students, we are unable to release students to families from the office after 3:15 p.m. on regular school days (and 1:20 p.m. on Early Release days). The office is very busy at this time, and our staff needs to focus on safely dismissing all students. Families who arrive after these times will be asked to wait until the regular dismissal process. Thank you for supporting our goal of getting every child home safely.

Grown Up Luncheon
We are excited to welcome families for our upcoming Grown-Up Luncheon on Wednesday, September 24! All students will enjoy lunch from 11:00–11:30 a.m. Families with one child will eat together in their child’s classroom, while families with multiple children will gather in the cafeteria.
To help us with a smooth and speedy entrance, please turn in your RSVP ahead of time. On the day of the event, sign-in tables will be set up outside the front doors by last name (alphabetical order). We will begin signing folks in at 10:45 and open the doors at 10:55. Families with one child will enter through the main doors, and families with multiple children will enter through the Eagle Doors.
You are welcome to bring lunch for your child(ren), or students may enjoy a school sack lunch (school lunches are available only for Kitsap Lake students).
Because we have a tight learning schedule, we kindly ask that all guests exit the building promptly at 11:30 a.m. so we can smoothly transition back into instruction. We look forward to seeing you there!

Notes from the Nest
Happy Friday KLE families,
I was out this week supporting a family member but I would like to give a shout out to our amazing para educator Kennedy! You may know her smiling face from parent pick up but there is so much more she gives to our KLE family. Kennedy has been instrumental in creating a warm and welcoming lunchroom experience for our Eagles. She is a kind and gentle responder when students are having a rough moment and she always brings joy and fun to our work. Thank you Kennedy for making KLE a great place to learn!
With gratitude,
Maura Crisp

Counselor Corner
Hello KLE families,
I am looking forward to starting lunch bunch groups the last week of September. We will be working with regulating emotions here at school. Groups will run during lunches and will give the students an opportunity to have lunch with peers in their grade level. I will be sending permission forms via parent square. Let me know if you have any questions or would like your child to participate.
Have a great weekend.

KLE House System Update
This week, our 2nd and 3rd graders joined the excitement of the KLE House System as they were officially sorted into their Houses! Students are thrilled to be part of their new teams and are already showing amazing spirit, teamwork, and pride. The House System is one of the many ways we build community, celebrate positive behavior, and recognize student success.
Each week, we’ll share updates and highlight the current House Leaderboard so families can follow along with the fun. Points are earned through positive behavior, academic effort, and showing our Eagle Pride!
🏆 House Leaderboard 🏆
Amistad-21
Protos-17
Onraka-15
Reveur-14
Altruismo-14
Nukumori-12

We can’t wait to see which House will climb to the top each week! Families—be sure to ask your child about their House, their chants, and how they are earning points.

September
In September the focus is Respect. One way to think about Respect is “seeing value in all people and things & treating them with care.” Many people feel Respected in different ways. We hope this month inspires discussions with your family about what Respect means to you and how you can practice it together!
Conversation Starters:
- Can you share or show what Respect means?
- What is 1 way you have practiced Respect lately?
|
|
Each month, there are required district recognition and celebration priorities. These monthly celebrations are:
Respect - Trait of the month
September 15 - October 15 National Hispanic Heritage Month
September 17, 2024 - Constitution Day
- required by state law and/or board policy
- included on the District printed wall calendar
- include an element/expectation of recognition or an educational component in all schools such as curriculum/lessons, assemblies and/or staff celebration/acknowledgement
