Notes From the Nest
As we move into the busy time between fall conferences and the holidays, many students begin to feel the effects of extra excitement, changes in routine, and added stress. Staying regulated—which means being able to manage one’s feelings, thoughts, and actions—is about more than just staying calm. It’s about helping children notice what’s happening in their bodies and emotions and giving them tools to respond in healthy ways.
You can support your child at home by keeping consistent routines, offering choices when possible, and encouraging breaks for movement, rest, or connection. Talk with your child about their feelings and model simple regulation tools, like taking deep breaths, stretching, or using positive self-talk. A few minutes of mindful attention each day can help your child stay balanced, focused, and ready to learn during this busy season.

Counselor Corner
This week we will discuss the definition of kindness- the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. One Thursday, our Nukumori members will be handing out purple bead necklaces when someone is caught being kind. Those students with the most beads will earn a Jelly Donut reward! At home, ask your child what kind acts they chose to do for our World Kindness Day!
Thank you
