Dear Families,
I’m reaching out with an important reminder about our parking lot expectations. We need everyone’s help to keep arrival and dismissal safe, smooth, and focused on what matters most—our students.
Lately, staff have been spending valuable time addressing conflicts, correcting unsafe behaviors, and reminding adults of basic expectations. When we’re managing grown-up disagreements, it takes our attention away from kids, where it truly belongs.
Please help us by doing the following every day:
Be patient, be kind, and follow all posted directions.
Do not block handicap parking spots—even “just for a moment.”
Pull forward, stay alert, and model calm behavior for our students.
We must work together. Our school community is at its best when adults demonstrate the respect, cooperation, and care that we want our children to emulate. Thank you for partnering with us to keep every student safe.
With gratitude, Principal Takata

We’ve heard a rumor that an Elf on the Shelf might be visiting our school this weekend to wreak havoc in our school! So today, we will be setting up a special Elf Trap by the office to see if we can catch that mischievous little elf.

Notes from the Nest
As the holidays get closer, many children experience a mix of excitement and extra stress. Busy schedules, special events, and changes to routines can feel like a lot for young kids, and that can sometimes show up as big emotions, extra energy, or tiredness. This is very normal for this time of year. If we are feeling it here at school I can only imagine what it feels like at home!
At school we are working on a balance of fun winter celebrations while still staying focused on educational goals. At home, you can support your children by keeping things simple and predictable when possible. Consistent bedtimes, familiar routines, and talking through the plan for the day help children feel safe and secure. Gentle reminders, extra patience, and moments of calm can go a long way. When kids know what to expect and feel supported, they’re better able to enjoy the fun parts of the season too.
As always, thanks for your partnership.

Counselor Corner
Thank You, Families!
We are thrilled to share that our Altruismo House clothing drive was a huge success! Thanks to the generosity and support of our school community, we collected 409 pounds of clothing for families in need. Your donations will make a meaningful difference, and we are grateful for the kindness and compassion shown throughout this initiative.
This month, we are encouraging students to practice empathy by learning how to solve conflicts in a calm and respectful manner. Please take a moment to talk with your child about the importance of handling disagreements thoughtfully. In counseling lessons, we are working on recognizing the difference between small problems that students can solve independently and big problems that require adult help.
Thank you for your continued partnership in supporting our students’ growth!
Warmly, Jenn Uniszkiewicz

December Trait- Empathy
For the month of December, our focus trait is Empathy. We all experience conflict in life. Whether we are frustrated with a friend or in an argument with a family member, we need tools to help us navigate conflict successfully and keep our relationships healthy. This month's focus is on practicing Empathy with our friendships.
