We have completed our iReady testing and have some great things to celebrate!!
📘 Reading Growth (iReady)
66% median progress toward annual typical growth across K–5
Most grades show strong movement in reading placement, especially grades 2–5
A growing number of students are moving closer to or above grade level, which tells us our reading instruction and interventions are working
Strengths to Highlight
Vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency work is paying off
Targeted small-group instruction is helping students move forward from where they started
Older grades are showing particularly strong gains
➕ Math Growth (iReady)
62% median progress toward annual typical growth across K–5
Several grades (especially Grade 5) show significant placement improvement
Math growth is happening, and we are continuing to focus on foundational skills and problem-solving
Strengths to Highlight
Students are improving in number sense and computation
Small-group math instruction is helping students make measurable progress
Growth varies by grade, which helps us know where to target next steps
We use i-Ready data to celebrate growth, identify strengths, and make sure every student gets what they need next. Growth looks different for every child, and we’re proud of the progress our students are making together. A shout out to our teachers, support staff and students for their focused work!
With gratitude, Principal Takata

All students will be bringing their house shirts home today! We did our best to size up when possible to allow room for students to grow into them. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re excited to see our students showing their house pride! Try to save the House Spirit for Fridays!

This week, we sent home Pink Emergency Release Forms with students to get them completed and returned. This form helps us prepare for any potential situation in which we are not able to dismiss students in the normal way. This also takes into consideration for if power or internet access is unavailable or if regular contact systems cannot be used.
Some Skyward contacts may not be local or immediately available in an emergency. This form would only be used during a Reunification situation to safely and efficiently reunite students with an approved adult. While we hope this is never needed, having this information on file is an important precaution to support student safety. Thank you for helping us be prepared. 💗

Our district is looking to add a few more parents to the District Advisory Council, and we would love your help! This council provides families an opportunity to share feedback, ask questions, and help guide important district decisions. We are hoping to connect with parents beyond our PTA/PTO groups. The next meeting will take place on March 4 from 4:00–5:00 PM. If you’re interested in participating or would like more information, please reach out to our main office at (360) 473-4300.

February Trait- Honesty
The focus for February is practicing Honesty to help with emotion awareness. It’s not always easy to be Honest in our words, actions, or thoughts with others or with ourselves. Practicing Honesty with ourselves allows us to identify emotions, be aware of our emotions, and manage our emotions.
