The Talon Times

March 2026, Edition 30

Mission:

At KLE, our school family cultivates a supportive environment that prioritizes emotional well being and rigorous academic standards to ensure every student thrives socially and academically.

Vision:

Kitsap Lake Elementary: Where everyone is welcome and everyone belongs.

Eagle Update from Principal Takata

It has been a busy and productive week here at school! While our hallways were quiet today during the non-student day, our teachers were buzzing with a different kind of energy.

🍎 Staff Professional Development

Today, our dedicated staff spent the day diving deep into our commitment to your children. We focused on the Five Prerequisites of Professional Teaming, exploring how we can collaborate even more effectively to ensure high levels of learning for every student. By refining our teamwork, we keep our focus exactly where it belongs: on student growth and success.

🗓️ Important Dates: Next Thursday & Friday

We have two big events happening simultaneously next week. Mark your calendars for Thursday and Friday!

  • Parent-Teacher Conferences: This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with teachers, celebrate your child’s progress, and discuss goals for the remainder of the year. These conferences are student-led so be sure your child attends with you.

  • The Scholastic Book Fair: Our library will be transformed! Stop by before or after your conference to browse the latest titles. Every purchase helps support our school library and promotes a love of reading in our students.

Warmly,

Principal Takata

Best Dental

We are grateful to partner with Best Dental, who recently visited our school to support student health and wellness! During their visit, they received 66 yes consent forms, completed 38 dental cleanings, placed 44 sealants to help protect teeth from cavities, and provided 60 fluoride treatments to strengthen and maintain healthy smiles. We truly appreciate their work in helping care for our students and promoting good dental habits. Thank you, Best Dental, for making a positive impact in our school community!

Registration Is Now Open!

Be Bremerton Day is a chance for our school community to give back by working together to clean and beautify downtown Bremerton! It’s a fun way to show pride in our city and help get it ready for the annual Armed Forces Day parade. Here is the link to our district page and event schedule.

March Trait- Cooperation

This month’s focus is Cooperation. One way to think about Cooperation is “working together to reach shared goals.” As a family, talk about how this definition applies to how you work together at home.
