Eagle Update from Principal Takata

Your Input Matters!!

As we begin planning for another great year at Kitsap Lake, we need your voice at the table. We recently shared our Family Growth Survey, but we have only received one response so far. To ensure our decisions reflect the needs and experiences of our school community, we are hoping to hear from many more families.

Your feedback helps guide improvements in communication, school climate, lunch procedures, family engagement, and other important aspects of the school experience. Whether you have ideas for change or want to share what is working well, your input matters.

Please take a few minutes to complete our Growth Survey using the link below. Every response helps us better serve our students and families and make Kitsap Lake an even stronger school community.

Thank you for partnering with us and helping shape the future of Kitsap Lake Elementary!

Counselor Corner

Hello Parents & Families,

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Do you know of a business or organization that would like to become a community partner with our school/program? We would love to connect with businesses that are interested in supporting, engaging with, and building relationships with our students and families. We are looking for sponsors to support our school, students, and community.

If you have a recommendation, please send us the business name, contact person, and contact information. Thank you for helping us strengthen the connection between our school and community!

Warmly,

Jenn Uniszkiewicz

School Counselor

Notes from the Nest

Summer offers children more free time to relax, play, and explore their interests. It can also mean more opportunities for screens. While technology can be a fun way to learn, connect, and unwind, too much screen time can sometimes affect sleep, mood, attention, and emotional regulation.

Children thrive when screen time is balanced with other activities that support healthy development.

Here are a few tips for families:

• Create clear expectations for when and where screens can be used.
• Encourage outdoor play, movement, reading, creativity, and family activities before screen time begins.
• Build in screen-free times during the day, especially during meals and before bedtime.
• Help children take breaks from screens to stretch, move, and rest their eyes.
• Model healthy technology habits by setting aside devices during family time.
• Talk with your child about what they are watching, playing, and learning online.

Rather than focusing only on limiting screens, consider helping your child create a balanced summer routine that includes physical activity, social connection, responsibilities, and plenty of opportunities for fun.

A simple question families can ask is: "What did you do today that made your body stronger, your brain stronger, and your relationships stronger?" Or try a Screen-Free Summer Hour! Choose one hour each day for reading, outdoor play, art, building, cooking, or family games. Small habits can make a big difference in helping children stay emotionally regulated and connected.

Have a great weekend!

🎉 House Mania Week is Here! 🎉

Get ready, Eagles!

Our final week full of school is also House Mania Week, where we will celebrate the amazing teamwork, leadership, and school spirit shown by our Houses all year long.

Each day, we will spotlight and celebrate two of our Houses as they compete in the final push for House Points. Throughout the week, students can earn points through school spirit, positive behavior, encouragement of others, and support for all Houses.

The excitement will build all week as the competition comes down to the wire! Then, on Friday afternoon, we will reveal our 2025-26 House Champion and come together for a school-wide celebration to honor their accomplishment.

We encourage all students to participate, show their House pride, and cheer on their fellow Eagles. Let's finish the school year strong and make our first the House Mania Week amazing!

Let's rock our final week of KLE House Mania!

8 Houses One Eagle Family
