A Personal Update
Dear Kitsap Lake Families,
I am writing to share some personal news with you. After much thought, I have accepted the opportunity to serve as Bremerton School District's Co-Director of Special Education. While this decision was not an easy one, it is an opportunity that aligns with my passion for supporting students and my long-term professional goals.
Serving as the principal of Kitsap Lake Elementary has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. Over the past four years, I have had the opportunity to get to know your incredible children, partner with your families, and work alongside an outstanding staff. Together, we have built a school community centered on kindness, belonging, high expectations, and a commitment to helping every student succeed. I am incredibly proud of all that we have accomplished together.
This new role will allow me to support students and families across our district, helping strengthen special education programs and services so that all students have access to the support they need to thrive. While my role is changing, my commitment to Bremerton School District and its students remains the same.
Although I am excited for this next chapter, leaving Kitsap Lake is bittersweet. This school will always hold a special place in my heart. I have every confidence that Kitsap Lake will continue to thrive with the amazing staff, dedicated families, and supportive community that make it such a special place.
Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and the opportunity to be part of your children's educational journey. It has been an honor to serve this community, and I will always cherish the relationships and memories we've created together.
With sincere gratitude,
Carly Takata
Principal, Kitsap Lake Elementary
