Your input is needed!

2027-28 and 2028-29 school year calendar survey

It’s that time of year again—when we gather input on the key “drivers” that shape our school calendar for the coming year(s).

This year we are going to gather perspectives for the next TWO years. Please take a few moments to complete a brief eight-question survey using the link below. Your feedback will help guide our planning for both the 2027-28 and the 2028-29 school years.

The survey closes on Friday, the 6th of November at noon. Thank you for sharing your perspective!

Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science results now available in SkywardQ

Results are now available in SkywardQ for students in grades 6, 9 and 12 who participated in the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science last spring.

These tests are not “pass/fail.”  The level your student earned in each content area is one indicator of their performance on some of the skills and knowledge required at each grade level. These results should be used along with other information, such as classwork and other tests, when making decisions about your student’s education.

To understand more information about these tests and results you can access the "Starting Smarter" webpage on the OSPI website.

Please contact your child’s school to discuss your child’s results, for assistance accessing Family Access in Skyward, to request a printed copy of these reports, or for ADA compliant versions.

Coming soon: Impact Aid forms

Every year the Bremerton School District must apply for Federal Impact Aid funds from the U.S. Department of Education. These funds compensate the District for the loss of local tax dollars due to families living in tax exempt federal property in the Bremerton area. Watch for information and a pink Impact Aid form from your child's school - coming soon!

Q: Why don't we collect Impact Aid and CNEEB forms at the same time?

A: While both forms are crucial, they serve different purposes. With Impact Aid, we are required to follow the federal government's specific timeline for collecting that information. The CNEEB form is collected earlier because it's used to verify families' eligibility for a number of important benefits, including free ASB cards and discounts on school fees. This allows us to provide those benefits to our students right away, without waiting for the federal Impact Aid window later in the fall.

Know when your student's bus is going to arrive with StopFinder!

We are happy to report that after some technical issues this fall, our transportation app "StopFinder" is now up and running for most of our routes.

  • If you previously used the app, it should be working for you.
  • All unregistered families should have received an invitation from " Welcome to StopFinder" during the last few weeks.
  • The invitation link only works for 24 hours. If you need a new link, please contact our transportation department at 360-473-0507 or transportation@bremertonschools.org.
  • You can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. It is completely free to download and use.
  • We are continuing to work to get our special education routes set up in StopFinder. Thank you for your patience.

Be prepared before the snow flies!

Now that it is officially fall, we want to make sure your family has a plan in place before the first snow day or late start!

We aim to make any decisions regarding school delays or closures by 5:30 a.m. Remember: No news is good news! If you don’t see an alert from us, schools and buses are operating on a regular schedule. (Note: We do not send early morning "robo calls" for winter weather announcements—look for ParentSquare alerts, website updates, social media posts, or local news!).

What you can do now to get ready:

  1. Check your contact information in SkywardQ and your ParentSquare notification settings: Ensure your contact details are up-to-date so you receive email, text, or app notifications from us!

  2. Review delay schedules: Know what a 2-hour or 3-hour delay looks like for your student's school.

  3. Visit our Winter Weather Communication page to review full details of our winter weather communication plan.
